#HumansOfLSA : Mike Harth

Taking inspiration from the original #HumansOfNewYork campaign that was designed to get to know the person behind the lens, our #HumansOfLSA introduces some of the characters that have helped shape Leake Street Arches.

This week, we spoke to Mike Harth, Site and Technical Operations Manager at House of Vans.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

Initially I wanted to become a fireman, followed by architect and see where I have ended up now…

Where is your happy place? On holiday with my family.

What’s your first ever memory? Playing as a toddler in the sand of a beach during a holiday to Majorca.

What do you regard as your biggest achievement in life so far? The creation of a family and everything that comes with it.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done? I don’t think i have done anything that hard. I’ve been in some stressful/difficult situations outside my comfort zone like traveling alone to faraway countries, worked long hours for days on end with only a couple hours sleep each night, swam in 8ft surf etc.

When did you last break the rules? I never break rules… ever…

If you could meet anyone (living or dead) who would it be? I have been very fortunate to have met a lot of important and/or interesting people throughout my career but I think my younger son would be very proud if I would meet Olaf from Frozen and John Cena (wrestler) for my older son.

If you were a graffiti artist, what would your tag name be and why? IsNoGood – as I wouldn’t be any good as a graffiti artist.

What scares you most? Brexit, ill health and crazy politicians.

If you could be remembered for one quality, what would it be? Caring (sometimes too much)
