Due to popular demand (and a heavy volume of requests sliding into our DMs), Leake Street Arches will now be holding regular ‘light shows’ at lunchtime and after-work.
The state-of-the-art lighting system has previously only been used for special events but ongoing interest means we will now be lighting up Leake Street on a daily basis.
From 12pm to 2pm each day, the lights will be set to alternate between a linear blue and magenta whilst in the evenings, from 5pm to 8pm, the moving rainbow setting will be in full effect.
Designed by Nulty, the main objective of the architectural lighting scheme is to highlight and celebrate the street art, while improving the quality of light throughout the tunnel.
We look forward to brightening up visitors’ days (and Insta feeds!) with an additional pop of (moving) colour.

This sounds like a fantastic addition to Leake Street Arches. The combination of street art and dynamic lighting must create an even more immersive atmosphere, especially with the moving rainbow effect in the evenings. It’s great to see public spaces evolving in ways that make them feel more interactive, creative, and welcoming for visitors. The focus on enhancing both the artwork and the overall experience is a really smart touch. Colorful creative spaces like this always remind me of the imaginative environments people build in games such as Eaglercraft.
Exciting to see Leake Street Arches embracing regular light shows! Can't wait to experience the vibrant colors during lunch and after work. Also, check out miside for more cool events!
I really like how the new lighting brings a fresh energy to Leake Street Arches while still respecting its creative, underground identity. Thoughtful illumination can completely change how a space feels, making it more welcoming, immersive, and expressive without losing its character. Seeing projects like this highlights how important quality lighting design is for public and artistic spaces. It’s one of the reasons I pay close attention to innovative lighting solutions that balance aesthetics and functionality.
