COVID-19 UPDATE - Wednesday 15th July
Leake Street Arches remains open to members of the public. Steps have been taken to ensure the safety of those using the tunnel, including relevant signage, a one way system and an increased cleaning schedule. These measures are being reviewed regularly in line with the latest guidance. LCR tenants that have restarted trading, including Mamuśka! and Banh Bao Brothers, are also adhering to Government guidelines on social distancing and cleanliness. The #LeakeStreetLIVE Summer Programme is primarily virtual, but in-person events are planned for August, subject to any future Government restrictions in response to Covid-19. Every participating event organiser is required to complete a thorough risk assessment.
#LeakeStreetLIVE is a free public events programme bringing you an exciting range of events at Leake Street Arches throughout the year.
Celebrating urban culture through food, drink, paint and play, the #LeakeStreetLIVE programme operates in seasons with new activities added as the year progresses.
The Summer Season focuses on Buskival, the #LeakeStreetLIVE music festival filmed in the tunnel and broadcast live on IGTV on Saturday 15th April. The summer programme will also feature three virtual graffiti tutorials from Sophy Robson (aka SoFLY) in July before in-person graffiti classes commence each Thursday in August.
Led by Sophy Robson (aka SoFLY) these one hour sessions start with a brief introduction to the world of graffiti. After demonstrating a few techniques, Sophy then invites attendees to leave their own mark on the walls of Leake Street. Running from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, these workshops include overalls and spray paint.
